# Cursor SEO MCP: Set Up zaDojo in Cursor

Connect zaDojo to Cursor and the agent can research keywords, check live Google results, look up competitors' rankings and backlinks, audit a site, track rankings and AI answers, and read your Search Console and Google Analytics data while you work on the site itself. That makes Cursor a good place to fix what an audit finds: the agent can read the report and edit the pages in the same chat.

## What you need

* A zaDojo account. [Sign up](https://app.zadojo.com/sign-up) to get €0.10 of trial credits with no card. The plan is €10 a month with €10 of usage included.
* Cursor with agent mode.

## Add the MCP server

### One click

Open this link in a browser on the machine where Cursor is installed:

Cursor opens and asks you to confirm the server. Approve it, then approve the zaDojo login in your browser.

### mcp.json

Add zaDojo to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` to use it in every project, or to `.cursor/mcp.json` in one repository:

Save the file. Cursor shows zaDojo in **Customize** under MCP servers and asks you to log in the first time a tool runs. Approve the zaDojo login in your browser.

### With an API key

Use a key when the browser login does not work, for example on a remote machine. Create one in [Settings > API keys](https://app.zadojo.com/settings), store it in an environment variable, and reference it:

Never commit a key to the repository. A project `.cursor/mcp.json` with a pasted key is the most common way keys leak.

## Add the SEO skills

The MCP server supplies the data. The skills tell the agent how to do each job step by step: audit, keyword research, clustering, competitor analysis, local SEO, link prospecting, AI prompt research, AI visibility audit and reports. Cursor reads skills from `.cursor/skills`, `.agents/skills` and the same folders in your home directory.

Add `-g` to install them for every project instead of the current one. Then ask the agent to "run the zaDojo SEO audit on my site", or name any other skill. The [skills overview](/docs/skills) lists all twelve.

## Check the connection

Start a new agent chat and send:

The agent should call `whoami` and `list_projects`. Both are free. If it describes MCP instead of calling a tool, open **Customize**, check that zaDojo is switched on, and start a new chat.

## Good first requests

* "Audit my site with zaDojo, then fix the title and meta description problems in this repo."
* "Find keywords for the page I have open and suggest a better H1."
* "Check which pages of mine get clicks in Search Console but rank between 8 and 15."
* "Ask ChatGPT and Gemini the five questions in this file and tell me who they recommend."

Search Console and Analytics reads, saved reports and plain site audits use no credits. Keyword research costs about €0.07 a search and a domain overview about €0.10. The agent is told to ask before any planned batch over €2. The [MCP guide](/docs/mcp) lists every tool and its cost.

## Troubleshooting

**zaDojo shows as disconnected.** Toggle it off and on in **Customize**, then start a new chat. If the login expired, Cursor asks you to sign in again.

**The one-click link does nothing.** Your browser may block `cursor://` links. Use the `mcp.json` method instead.

**Too many tools.** Cursor may warn when several MCP servers together expose many tools. Turn off servers you are not using in this project.
