Local SEO
Local SEO tools for Google Maps, the local pack and Business Profiles
See who ranks on Google Maps for the searches your customers make, how far your visibility reaches around the business, and how your Google Business Profile compares with the competitors that beat it. Your agent runs the checks through the zaDojo MCP server, and the app adds city-level keyword volumes and rank checks.
About €0.006 per Maps or Local Finder check. Local data is paid from the credits in the €10 plan.
What the local SEO tools cover
Local results work differently from the ten blue links. Google shows the local pack and Maps results based on distance from the searcher, relevance to the search and how prominent the business is, so the same search gives different answers a few streets apart. A national ranking report says little about a plumber who serves one town.
zaDojo's local tools answer three questions. Who ranks on Maps for this search near this spot? How far does my visibility reach around the business? And what do the businesses that beat me have that my profile lacks: categories, reviews, recent posts, a complete profile?
Most of the local data is reached through your AI agent over MCP, where the Local SEO skill runs the checks in a fixed order and writes up the one fix to make first. In the app, keyword research can show volumes for a city or region, and a rank tracker can check Google as searched from a single city.
What you can look up
- Maps and Local Finder results
- The businesses Google shows for a search near a coordinate, with rank, rating, categories and hours.
- Rank grid
- The same Maps search repeated on a 3x3 or 5x5 grid around the business, with your rank, the result count and the number one business at each point.
- Business Profile
- Categories, rating and review count, rating breakdown, address, phone, website, claimed status, opening hours and photo count for any listing.
- Reviews, posts and Q&A
- Google reviews with the owner's replies, the posts a profile has published, and its questions and answers.
- Nearby businesses
- Local listings near a point, filtered by rating, review count or claimed status, to find competitors or unclaimed listings.
- Categories
- Google Business Profile category lookup, to check which categories competitors use. Free of credits.
Who uses the local SEO tools
Local businesses
Find out why the listing shows up near the shop but not across the area it serves, and what to fix first.
Agencies with local clients
Audit a client's profile against the businesses that outrank it and show the Maps coverage on a grid.
Multi-location brands
Check each location against its own local competitors instead of a national average.
Local data in the app
- 01In Keyword research, add a city or region to see local volume, CPC and competition for your service keywords.
- 02In Keywords, then Rankings, create a tracker with a city as its location and run a check to see your position as searched from there.
- 03For Maps results, rank grids and Business Profile data, connect your agent to the zaDojo MCP server and use the Local SEO skill.
Run a local audit through your agent
The Local SEO skill compares your Google Business Profile with the competitors that beat you nearby, reads the review gap and runs a rank grid. It tells you the cost before a 5x5 grid or grids for several keywords, and repeating the same grid within an hour costs nothing extra.
/zadojo:local-seo Why don't we show up on Google Maps for "dog groomer" outside the town centre? Our listing is Example Grooming, 12 High Street.
Connect the zaDojo MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex.
What local SEO costs
Each Maps search is a live Google check paid from your credits. A rank grid is one Maps search per point.
| What you do | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| One Maps or Local Finder check | About €0.006 |
| A 3x3 rank grid (9 searches) | About €0.05 |
| A 5x5 rank grid (25 searches) | About €0.15 |
| Profile, review, post and Q&A lookups | Credits per lookup |
| Category lookup | No credits |
zaDojo is €10 a month with €10 of usage included.
Limits to know
- A Maps check is one snapshot from one point. Real searchers see results shaped by their exact location and history.
- Maps results, rank grids and Business Profile data are available through the MCP server and agent skills, not as screens in the app.
- zaDojo reads Business Profiles. It does not edit your profile, post updates or reply to reviews for you.
- Scheduled rank tracking is paused on the hosted app for now. Manual rank checks still work.

Common questions
What is a local rank grid?
The same Google Maps search run from several points in a square around a business. It shows where the business ranks at each point, so you can see where its visibility drops away.
Can I check a competitor's Google Business Profile?
Yes. Profile, review, post and Q&A lookups work for any business on Google, not only your own.
Do I need an AI agent to use the local tools?
For Maps results, rank grids and Business Profile data, yes: they run through the zaDojo MCP server in Claude, Codex, Cursor or another MCP client. City-level keyword volumes and city rank checks are in the app.
Is this a local SEO audit?
These are the tools. The local SEO audit guide walks through the checks one by one, and the Local SEO skill runs them for you.
