AI Visibility Checker
Find out whether ChatGPT names your brand when buyers ask about your market. Enter a question and a country to read the answer, see the sources it cites and the brands it recommends, and check whether you are among them.
What the tool shows
- 01
Whether ChatGPT names you
One live ChatGPT answer, with web search on, to the question you enter. The tool checks whether your brand name or domain appears in it.
- 02
Whether it cites your site
Every page ChatGPT listed as a source, with yours highlighted when it is one of them.
- 03
Who it names instead
The other brands in the answer, so you can see which competitors ChatGPT recommends for that question.
What AI visibility means
AI visibility is how often AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand or link to your site when people ask about your market. It works differently from a Google ranking. There is no position one, just an answer that either names you or does not, and a short list of sources it drew from.
Two signals matter. A mention means the answer names your brand, which is what a buyer reads. A citation means the answer links to one of your pages as a source, which is what can send a visitor to your site. You can have one without the other.
How to read your result
An invented example. You sell a CRM for agencies and ask best CRM for small agencies in the United States. The answer recommends four products, yours is not one of them, and it cites a software review site, two comparison posts and one vendor's pricing page.
- Not mentioned, not cited. ChatGPT does not connect your brand with this question yet. Check the cited pages first: if they list your competitors and not you, getting onto them is often the fastest fix.
- Mentioned, not cited. The answer knows you, but it trusts other pages to describe you. Make sure your own pages say plainly what you do, for whom, and at what price.
- Cited, not mentioned. Your page is a source, but the answer does not name you as an option. Check whether that page states your product name next to the claim it was cited for.
- Mentioned and cited. Keep the cited page current and ask again in a few weeks, because answers change.
How to improve your AI visibility
- Be findable for the question. With web search on, ChatGPT can only cite pages its search step finds, so pages that are easy to find for the question have a better chance. The guide to ranking in ChatGPT walks through choosing questions, checking them and changing the pages that feed the answers.
- Get onto the pages it cites. Review sites, comparison posts and directories that ChatGPT cites are where it learns who the options are. Getting listed there accurately can matter more than your own pages.
- Write pages that are easy to quote. Put a direct answer near the top of the page, name your product in it, and keep facts like pricing and features easy to quote. The answer engine optimization guide and the generative engine optimization guide go deeper.
- Check Google too. Google's AI answers pick sources differently. The AI Overview checker shows what Google cites for the same question.
Limits of the free check
- It asks one engine, ChatGPT with web search, one question, in one country. Gemini, Google AI Overviews and other assistants can answer differently.
- ChatGPT does not give the same answer every time. A single run is a snapshot, so a brand named today can be missing tomorrow and the other way round.
- Mentions are found by matching your brand name and domain in the answer text and the brands ChatGPT tagged. A different spelling or a product name that is not your brand name can be missed.
- Answers are cached for 24 hours per question and country.
What zaDojo adds
One answer cannot tell you whether you are gaining or losing ground. The AI brand visibility feature in zaDojo asks the questions you choose in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule. It records how often your brand and each competitor are named and which pages get cited, so you see a mention rate over many answers instead of one. A scheduled check costs about β¬0.002 per question per engine.
Common questions
Why does ChatGPT give me a different answer?
ChatGPT's answers vary from one run to the next, and your own account's settings, memory and conversation history can change what you see. The tool asks one fresh question with web search on, from the country you pick.
Which ChatGPT model does the tool use?
It reads the answer ChatGPT gives in its search mode, the answer a person sees when ChatGPT searches the web. The tool cannot choose the model, so treat the result as what ChatGPT shows by default.
Is my brand name sent anywhere?
No. Only the question and country are sent. Your brand name and domain are compared with the answer in your browser.
What is a good AI visibility score?
One answer cannot give you a score, only a yes or no. A useful number is a mention rate: how many of many answers to your market's questions name you. Scheduled tracking in zaDojo measures that.
Is the AI visibility checker free?
Yes, with no account. Each check shows ChatGPT's answer, its sources and the brands it names, with one free search a day per visitor.
