Claude SEO skills: a free pack of 12 SEO skills
Twelve free SEO skills for Claude Code and Claude Desktop, from site audits to AI visibility. What each does, how to install them, what they cost.
A Claude SEO skill is a written procedure Claude follows for one SEO job, such as an audit or keyword research. zaDojo publishes twelve of them, free to install, on GitHub. In Claude Code you install all twelve with two commands.
The skills themselves cost nothing. The live data they pull (keyword metrics, rankings, backlinks) comes through the zaDojo MCP server, and some of it uses credits. More on that below.
What a skill is
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file. The file has a name, a short description Claude reads to decide when the skill applies, and the steps it follows once it does. Claude loads a skill only when you use it, so installed skills do not fill up your conversation.
Without a skill, Claude improvises a new method every time you ask for an audit. With one, it follows the same steps: which data to pull, what to check before trusting a number, and how to write up the result. For how skills fit into agent-based SEO in general, see SEO agents.
The twelve skills
| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
| SEO Project Setup | Saves your site, goal, positioning, competitors and key pages so every other skill reuses them |
| SEO Coach | Explains where you stand in plain words and recommends one next step |
| SEO Audit | Crawls a site, checks real search data and reports the few changes most likely to grow traffic that converts |
| Keyword Research | Finds keyword opportunities, checks metrics and results pages, and saves the good ones |
| Keyword Clustering | Groups keywords by intent and maps each group to an existing or new page |
| Competitive Landscape | Shows who leads a market in search, which content wins and where the gaps are |
| Competitor Analysis | Studies one competitor's rankings, content themes and backlinks |
| Local SEO | Audits a Google Business Profile against local rivals and maps Google Maps rankings around a location |
| Link Prospecting | Finds sites with a reason to link to a page, with contact paths and outreach drafts |
| AI Prompt Research | Finds the questions people ask AI about your market and which sites the answers cite |
| AI Visibility Audit | Works out why AI answers name competitors instead of you and what to change first |
| SEO Report | Saves finished research as an HTML report in your project; the other skills use it |
Each skill has its own page with details and typical costs under Agent Skills.
Install in Claude Code
Run these inside a Claude Code session:
/plugin marketplace add zadojo/seo-geo-mcp
/plugin install zadojo@zadojoRun /reload-plugins if Claude Code asks, then approve the zaDojo login (or run /mcp and log in from there). The plugin adds the skills and the MCP connection together. You need a zaDojo account; sign up for €0.10 of trial credits with no card.
Type /zadojo: to see the skills. Plugin skills carry the plugin name, so you run /zadojo:seo-audit, /zadojo:keyword-research and so on. You can also just ask for the job in plain words and Claude picks the matching skill.
Install in Claude Desktop and Cowork
On a paid Claude plan, add the plugin from Customize > Plugins: add the marketplace from the repository https://github.com/zadojo/seo-geo-mcp, then install zaDojo. The Claude Code plugin guide has every click.
On Claude Free, plugins are not available. Add zaDojo as a custom connector and upload the skill folders under Customize > Skills, as described in manual skill setup.
Install without the plugin
If you only want some skills, or use another agent, the skills CLI installs them from the same repository:
npx skills add zadojo/seo-geo-mcpIt shows the skills and the agents it found before installing anything. Connect the zaDojo MCP server first, because the skills load without it but every step that needs data fails. Installed this way, Claude Code runs them without the prefix, as /seo-audit. Manual skill setup also covers copying the folders by hand.
Which skill to run first
- New site or new project: run
/zadojo:seo-project-setup, then ask/zadojo:seo-coachwhat to do next. - "Why is traffic flat?" Run
/zadojo:seo-audit. - Planning content:
/zadojo:keyword-research, then/zadojo:keyword-clustering. - Missing from ChatGPT answers:
/zadojo:ai-visibility-audit.
What the skills cost to run
Installing the skills, logging in, checking the connection and saving reports are free. So are Search Console and Google Analytics reads and plain site audits. Skills that pull paid data use credits at 1,000 credits per €1: about €0.07 for one keyword research search, about €0.10 for a domain or backlink overview, and about €0.25 for Prompt Research on one keyword. Claude is told to ask you before a planned batch over €2.
zaDojo is one plan at €10 a month with €10 of usage included. See pricing.
