Cheap and affordable SEO tools, with real prices

Start with the free tools: Google Search Console for your own search data and Ahrefs' free plan for backlinks and audits on sites you own. When you need data on keywords and competitors, the cheapest paid options are zaDojo at €10 a month, Ubersuggest at €29 a month (€16 billed yearly) and Ahrefs Starter at €26 a month. SpyFu, Mangools and Serpstat sit between €35 and €61 a month, and SE Ranking is the cheapest full suite at €109 a month (€87.20 billed yearly).

Mangools, SE Ranking and Ubersuggest show euro prices to European visitors, and we quote those. Ahrefs, SpyFu and Serpstat list US dollars, which we convert at 1 EUR = 1.1225 USD (ECB rate, 19 October 2026), so the amount you pay depends on your card's exchange rate.

• Keyword research: Ubersuggest Individual gives 150 reports a day for €29. In zaDojo, one search returns 150 ideas with volume and difficulty for about €0.07, so 100 searches cost about €7.
• Rank tracking: SpyFu Basic tracks 5,000 keywords weekly for €35. In zaDojo, 100 keywords checked weekly cost about €1 to €2 a month.
• Backlinks: Ahrefs Free shows up to 1,000 backlinks at a time for sites you own. For competitors, Mangools Basic includes 100,000 backlink rows a month, and a zaDojo backlink overview costs about €0.10.

Google Search Console

Free, and the only source of measured clicks, impressions and average positions for your own site, by query, page, country and device, for up to 16 months. It can't show competitors or keywords you don't rank for.

Choose it if you have a website. Every other tool on this page works better next to it.

Ahrefs Free

Ahrefs Free (formerly Ahrefs Webmaster Tools) covers any number of sites you can verify you own. It includes Site Explorer with up to 1,000 backlinks and 1,000 keywords visible at once, Site Audit with 5,000 crawl credits per project a month, Web Analytics, and one AI Content Helper document a month. It does not show data for competitors' sites.

Choose it if you want to audit your own site and see who links to it, at no cost.

zaDojo

zaDojo is €10 a month, and the €10 comes back as usage credits. You pay for the data you pull: about €0.07 per keyword search, €0.10 per domain or backlink overview, and €1 to €2 a month to track 100 keywords weekly. Search Console and Google Analytics reads, saved keywords, reports and plain site audits use no credits. Projects are unlimited and there are no seat fees.

It covers keyword research, domain overviews, backlinks, rank tracking, site audits, local SEO and AI visibility. You can use the web app, or connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex over MCP and let the agent run the research. Choose it if you research in bursts, look after one site or a few, or want an AI agent to do the work. Look elsewhere if you need ad research, years of history, or heavy daily tracking of thousands of keywords; daily tracking costs about seven times as much as weekly. Ahrefs Starter

Ahrefs Starter is €26 a month and gives limited access to Ahrefs' own index for competitor research. It is a much smaller plan than Lite, which costs €115. Our Ahrefs pricing page lists what Starter includes.

Choose it if you want Ahrefs data on competitors and can live with Starter's limits.

Ubersuggest

Individual is €29 a month, €16 a month billed yearly (€192 a year), or €290 once for lifetime access. It gives 150 reports a day, 1 project, 125 tracked keywords updated weekly, site audits of 1,000 pages, 2,000 backlink rows and AI visibility checks for 10 prompts a month. Business (€49 a month) covers 7 projects. You can downgrade to a free account at any time.

Choose it if you want one simple tool for a single site and like the option of paying once.

SpyFu

Basic is €35 a month, or €26 a month billed yearly. It includes 10,000-row search results and exports, 5,000 keyword rankings tracked weekly, one site tracking project and 50,000 audit pages a month. Basic doesn't include SpyFu's 10+ years of history; Pro + AI does, at €106 a month after a €53 first month. SpyFu also shows competitors' Google Ads keywords and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Choose it if you research competitors' paid and organic keywords, or need to track a large keyword list cheaply.

Mangools

Mangools Basic is €61 a month, or €37.70 a month billed yearly (€452.40 a year). It bundles KWFinder, SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner and SiteProfiler: 100 keyword lookups and 100 SERP checks a day, 200 tracked keywords updated weekly, 100,000 backlink rows a month and 500 AI prompts monitored. API and MCP access are included. Basic has no extra seats. Mangools refunds within 48 hours of payment.

Choose it if keyword research is your main job and you want an easy interface.

Serpstat

Individual is €61 a month, or €45 a month billed yearly (€535 paid upfront). It covers 5 projects, 100 searches a day for sites, keywords and links, 10,000 keyword position checks and 30,000 audit pages. API, MCP and AI visibility checks start on the Team plan at €115 a month (€89 billed yearly).

Choose it if you want a broad toolkit with rank tracking and audits for a handful of sites.

SE Ranking

Core is €109 a month, or €87.20 a month billed yearly. It covers 10 projects, 1 user, 2,000 keywords tracked daily, 100 AI prompts tracked daily, 250,000 audit pages a month and unlimited keyword, competitor and backlink research, with MCP access. The 14-day trial needs no card.

Choose it if you track rankings daily for several sites and want a full suite for less than Semrush or Ahrefs Lite.

How to keep SEO costs low

1. Start with Search Console and Ahrefs Free. Many small sites never need more.
2. Pay yearly only once you know the tool fits. Every yearly price above is a commitment.
3. Track weekly rather than daily unless rankings move fast in your market.
4. Match the tool to the job you do most often, and use free one-off checks for the rest.

What is the cheapest SEO tool? Google Search Console and Ahrefs Free cost nothing but only cover sites you own. For competitor and keyword data, zaDojo is €10 a month with €10 of usage included, and Ubersuggest is €16 a month billed yearly.

Is Ubersuggest worth it? For one site and occasional research, its €29 Individual plan covers keyword ideas, a 125-keyword tracker and a small audit. It has one project on that plan, so if you look after several sites, compare Business (€49 for 7 projects) with Serpstat or SE Ranking.

Can I do SEO with only free tools? For your own site, yes: Search Console shows what you rank for and Ahrefs Free audits the site and lists your backlinks. You need a paid tool when you want to research competitors or find keywords you don't rank for yet.
